Oxford Ghost Trail
A quick Oxford Ghost youtube story narrated by Bill Spectre: The tale of George Napper
Recently named by The Guardian as one of The Top 10 UK guided walks and tours!
Historically informative yet hugely entertaining, it's the perfect way to soak up the atmosphere of this famous city, leaving you with a deliciously scary tingle running down your spine.
Intrepid ghost hunters should meet outside the glass fronted gift shop of Oxford Castle Unlocked. Bill Spectre (distinctively dressed as a Victorian undertaker) will depart from that place at 6.30pm every Friday and Saturday evening. For a shorter walk, meet outside the Tourist Information Centre, 15-16 Broad Street at 6:50pm.
Beware! The board outside the blue gates of Trinity College has nothing to do with Bill Spectre's Ghost Trail, he never leaves from there. If you don't see the name Bill Spectre, it isn't his tour!
The tour lasts approximately 1 ¾ hours from the castle or 1 ¼ hours from the Tourist Information Centre, and ends near the Sheldonian Theatre.
Adults - £10.00
Children (aged 13-15 years) - £7.00
Children (aged 5-12 years) - £5.00
Pay Bill Spectre on the day, or buy tickets online:
DO NOT buy tickets from Cool Britannia or Wendy's Newsagent on Broad Street, this is not Bill Spectre's Tour!!
Access: The tours are accessible to wheelchair and pushchair users, but there are cobblestones, uneven paving and kerb stones to be negotiated.
The tours run Friday & Saturday and take place whatever the weather. No need to book, however if you are planning to bring a group of students you MUST contact Bill Spectre first. He specialises in private bookings which might be a better option.
A great night out in Oxford!
