Ghost Story Reviews

"The storytelling was exceptional and kept the youngsters of all ages absolutely spellbound."

Mr P G Dick, Headmaster, Kennet School Thatcham

"The second Bill appeared from the shadows of the dark Library the children were mesmerised. An actor and storyteller by trade; the children were enthralled by Bill's telling of Bram Stoker's The Judge's House. The only noise to be heard in the whole 50 minute telling was a collective intake of breath as the story reached its horrifying climax! Whoever says it is impossible to get teenagers to concentrate for any length of time these days, clearly hasn't seen Bill tell a tale. A fantastically different event for a school to host, both educational and memorable, I would wholeheartedly recommend Bill for a school visit and let your students witness storytelling at its best. We can’t wait to have Bill back again, although we are a little scared...!

"Wow! You were amazing! I was swept off my feet by your storytelling!"

Sarah Slade, audience member at Oxford Castle Unlocked

"Bill Spectre visited Cogges Manor Farm Museum for our "Night at the Museum" event in association with the National MLA event (Museums, Libraries & Archives). It was a tremendous success with the highlight of the evening being Bill's spooky ghost tales.

Visitors listened in awe as Bill began his ghostly tale, rapt with interest in the darkened setting of the Manor House dining room, our guests could feel the chill in the air and you could hear a pin drop as Bill delved deeper into this mysterious tale of The Monkey's Paw.

As the evening came to an end you could hear and see their obvious enjoyment of Bill's expertly told story. I can't recommend him enough to add that extra something special to any event."

Lorraine Horne, Publicity & Marketing Officer, Cogges Manor Farm Museum Witney
